Election Day is almost here...
Heavenly Father, We have a huge choice to make & I pray in Jesus name that YOUR will be done...because we humans tend to not really know the best person to lead us & our country on this earthly walk but YOU do & I pray that it will be a man that follows YOU!! Amen!
I would sincerely like to invite everyone to pray this prayer along with me until the votes have been counted & announced. Then we need to pray for whomever wins the election to lead us with an honest heart & a mind that has a conscience & a man that knows there is someone larger than he who he will have to answer to in the end.
God Bless Our Country & each of you. Peace ~

Soft Kitty, Warm Kitty, Little (BIG) Ball of Fur
Good Morning to ya'll...it's a bit chilly here in the U.P. of Michigan this morning but it's a beautiful day. A day that God has gifted to each of us...let us praise & worship him, give him thanks & serve him throughout our day.
Recently I (we) adopted a new kitty...his name is Gabriel. We lost the last of our kitties December 2nd 2011. She was 16 yrs. old, she was a tiny petite little girl that wandered into our backyard & our hearts when she was between 6 months & a year old. She took a firm root in our hearts & lives and we were so distraught at loosing her.
I have always had pets in my life and I have experienced this awful grief many times BUT my husband had not ever allowed a kitty to take up residence in his heart like that before our lil' girl Scootie.
As a result we said NO MORE kitties for us we do not want to go through this terrible sense of loss again. We had lost our English Setter a couple years ago & had decided no more dogs & we have not gotten another...so this house was to be petless.
Along about February I was terribly lonely missing a furry friend to cuddle & so I started saying I want a kitten. My husband, Ernie would say "No way...I'm not going through that again". So I'd let it go for awhile. I finally started looking on Petfinder.com for kittens in a 100 mile radius. I wasn't finding any real kittens. I had decided because the last 3 cats we had were all full grown black strays I had taken in that I wanted a baby kitten this time.
'But fate has a way about changing those things we think we want into something entirely different.'
My kitty Gabe is definitely not a kitten...he has beautiful green eyes, medium to long black fur, is aprox. 9-10 yrs. old according to our vet and he weighs over 20 pounds.
We stopped at an animal shelter before my doctors appt. one day we only had a few minutes. We opened up the cages of several sweet kitties and held them and then I opened Gabriel's cage, there was a note reading: Please let me get used of you, I tend to be a bit shy. Hmmmm....he obviously knew God had sent me to be his new Momma...he put his paws on my waist then up a bit farther then I set my purse down & picked him up he wrapped his paws around my neck & started nuzzling in under my hair...it was LOVE at first sight. Unfortunately I was running late now for my doc. appt. so we had to skedaddle. When I got out from my appt. the shelter was closed and it is an hours drive away from where we live.
So the next week all I could think about was this Soft Kitty, Warm Kitty, Little (BIG) Ball of Fur...I knew I had to be his Mom.
I got on petfinder & found him...the shelter announced they were having a St.Patrick's Day celebration by randomly sticking Shamrocks on kitty cages and if they had a Shamrock the cost was only a $10.00 fee for adoption. I PANICKED...so I called them & sure enough Gabe had a Shamrock on his cage...I asked them if they would hold him for me for two days, they agreed to so on April 21st I adopted my new baby boy Gabriel.
He has been declawed in the front which is nice BUT I would not ever do that myself, he was neutered when he arrived as a neighborhood stray also.
Somehow we cannot believe he was abandoned, who would pay for neutering & declawing & then just toss them out AND the real kicker is...he does a trick. He begs...Yes just like a little dog stands up on their hind legs and dances around and makes their front paws go...Gabe sits up on his but and takes his front paws together and moves them up and down just like a wind up toy. It is absolutely adorable. Tickles my heart every time he does it. He does it for treats, for you to pick him up & also to be invited up on the bed. He is an incredibly awesome kitty and I love him more than the stars in the sky.
